Linda Hornisberger is a veterinary surgeon and had a small animal surgery until 2014. Is specialised in behavioural medicine and lectured at the Swiss Vet University of Berne. She has been training search dogs since 1980. She has trained and handled four dogs as Search and Rescue Dogs and one dog as a Cadaver Search Dog. She has been on numerous callouts in Switzerland and abroad (e.g. Japan, Turkey, Nepal etc.) as dog handler, head and chief search. Since 2014 she is professional chief trainer of REDOG Switzerland, the only organisation in Switzerland that trains SAR dogs for rubble search. She gives talks and courses for dog trainers and other members USAR teams in Switzerland and abroad. She helps to prepare and organize joint exercises for USAR teams. She worked for the Humanitarian Aid Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SDC Swiss Agency for development and cooperation as a senior advisor to help build up the Jordanian INSARAG classified Heavy USAR Team.
