Being a magazine journalist is an exciting JEMUN Journalism role that provides participants with opportunities to use their creativity and develop their design skills by using an amazing interactive magazine software called JOOMAG. With the support of faculty advisors, the magazine journalists will use this software to bring together all of the of journalism formats into one beautifully designed JEMUN magazine which can be enjoyed online and in print.
In order to successfully design the JEMUN interactive magazine, the magazine journalists will need to communicate with all of the other journalists at the JEMUN conference to ensure that the required stories are ready on time and they are of appropriate length for the magazine.
Most of the content of the 48-page magazine has been tentatively decided by the organizing committee, but the layout and design is entirely up to the magazine team. As you receive stories from the video, newspaper, podcast, cartoon, and photo journalists, you'll be responsible for adding these publications to the interactive magazine using your creativity and design preferences.
