DO NOT LIMIT YOUR CHALLENGES BUT CHALLENGE YOUR LIMITS
JEMUN was undoubtedly one of the major turning points in my academic life. As a Masters student, specializing in International Relations, it was always a goal of mine to have a more realistic experience in the process of international organizations. If you ever dream of becoming a diplomat, JEMUN is the best chance for you to experience the flow of negotiations, challenge your limits, expand your horizons and have an authentic experience on the flow and process of the United Nations. Before the conference, participants had access to all of the preparation materials and time to prepare for the conference. At the conference, we were faced with the challenge of finding solutions for climate change around the world. All of us tried to represent our country's interests and we debated, argued, agreed and disagreed on the proposals from other nations. Finally we made a resolution that we believed was the best compromised set of actions. JEMUN is well organized and arranged, so that participants feel like they are real diplomats and not students. As a student majoring in International Relations, I strongly believe that today's international platforms need more practical solutions and charismatic leaders who have been well trained. There is no better place than JEMUN to achieve these goals.

Last summer, I participated in the Japan English Model United Nations. This opportunity was an outstanding chance for me to hone my public speaking skills and obtain a deeper understanding of how international organizations operate when addressing global issues and crises. The conference helped me to further develop my global mindset, something I believe strongly will be of great value as I pursue my future career. By participating as a delegate, I was able to communicate with many students from around the world, each bringing a different global perspective and each bringing me to a greater appreciation for the synergy of collaborative effort.

Of all the MUN conferences I’ve ever partaken in, JEMUN was definitely one of the best. As every meeting room has a different vibe and level, participants with a variety of experiences can easily find a role suited to their interests, abilities, and learning needs. I participated as a delegate in the 2018 and 2019 JEMUN conferences, and it is obvious that JEMUN is getting better year by year. I assure you that JEMUN will make your summer precious and memorable. Go apply before it is too late!

The Japan English Model United Nations (JEMUN) Conference was an incredible experience that I was fortunate to be a part of this year. The conference was comprised of over four-hundred students from all around the world participating in a simulation-based conference which was centred around climate change. One of the most amazing aspects of the conference was the multicultural collaboration from all students who engaged in informative debate’s and discussion’s regarding some of the most pressing international issues. Not only did the students participating in the conference show passion for diplomacy and negotiation but so did the facilitators of the event. The JEMUN Conference is unlike any event I’ve ever been to and I cannot recommend it more. If I had the opportunity to go attend the JEMUN Conference again I would do so in a heartbeat. There is no doubt in my mind that I will cross paths with the friends I made over that weekend somewhere in the near future.
