Assignment #2
To get used to planning and making a news video, the JEMUN video advisors would like each video journalist to try to make a short video news story and upload it to Youtube. The instructions and themes are listed below.
Video instructions:
1. The video should be about 3 minutes long.
2. Make a storyboard.
3. Follow your storyboard plan.
4. Use your smart phone or a video camera to record the video.
5. If you have an iPhone or a Mac, you can edit the video using iMovie. If not, you can use an alternative video editing software such as VIVA VIDEO.
6. Review your movie to make sure you are satisfied with it.
7. Upload your video to Youtube.
8. Submit the storyboard and Youtube link on the pre-conference video assignment submission page.
9. Your advisor will share your video to the JEMUN facebook page.
10. Take a look at some of the videos on the JEMUN Youtube Channel for a better ideas of what the video journalists accomplished at JEMUN 2018.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
At the JEMUN conference, you and your partner will work together to plan, record, edit and publish video reports. Some of the videos you will make are REQUIRED. This means that the organizing committee has already decided on some events throughout the conference that you and your partner MUST REPORT ON. In addition to the REQUIRED videos, you will also have the freedom to use your creativity to plan and produce your own story ideas. These are called FREE. To keep your video team and the advisors on target and organized throughout the conference, we have put together a coverage board which your video team will follow. This coverage board will available for download in April and will be printed in poster size and taped to the wall in your journalism room. In April, please check out your REQUIRED coverage and start thinking of questions you can ask during your interviews. Your advisor will explain how to use the coverage board during the meeting for all of the journalists which starts at 10:45 am on Saturday, July 13th.
