Do I Need a Visa to Enter Japan?
Check with your government or the government of Japan to determine if a visa is required. As of July 2017, Japan has taken measures concerning the Visa Exemption Arrangements with 68 countries. Nationals and citizens of these 68 countries and regions shown below are not required to obtain visas to enter Japan when their visits are tourism, commerce, conferences, visiting relatives/ acquaintances, etc. For more detailed information for your country see the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
What if I need a visa?
Please apply for a visitor/tourist visa because attending a JEMUN conference does not qualify you for an academic study visa. To assist you with your visa application, the JEMUN organizers can only provide you with a basic invitation letter confirming that you have paid for the conference. JEMUN is UNABLE to provide an official letter of guarantee or act as a guarantor for visa applications. JEMUN is not responsible if groups or individuals are unable to secure their visa(s). All of the fees are non-refundable.
How do I Request a Basic Letter of Invitation ?
1. Register for the conference and pay the necessary conference fee(s) (non-refundable). A letter will not be provided until all of the conference fees have been paid and your visa interview date has been determined.
2. The Faculty Advisor, chaperone, or group leader should submit the JEMUN visa information form (below) well in advance of you group's visa interview.
3. JEMUN will only issue one letter per school listing all of the applicants.
4. Failure to secure your visas will result in your group being withdrawn from the conference.
